General Auction Rules

All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets.  Anyone desiring to bid must write their bid number and the bid amount on the bid sheet.  Bids must be in round dollar amounts.

There are multiples of Silent Auction items.  Each is considered a separate auction item and the highest bid on each sheet will be successful.

Persons biding on Silent Auction items agree that if a subsequent bid is disqualified or otherwise stricken for any reason prior to the close of bidding, the last and highest on the bid sheet will be deemed as the successful bidder.

Under no circumstances may the bid sheets be removed from the tables except by an Auction Spotter or Committee Member.

Winning bid numbers appear on the carbon copies left at the tables.  There is no need to inquire at the Check Out table.

Each bidder assumes all risks and hazards related to the items obtained at the auction.  Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising there from Pinnacle High School, the auctioneer, auction committee, donors, and/or volunteers associated with the auction.

All purchases are final and there will be no exchanges.

Payments will be made to the cashier at check-out.  Items are claimed at the auction tables by presenting a receipt to the Auction Spotters.  Cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard are acceptable forms of payment.

Additional items may have been received after the Auction Program was printed.

Live Auction Rules

All persons who participate in the Live Auction agree to pay the amount bid for any item if they are determined to be the successful bidder. Payment must be made in accordance with the General Auction Rules.

To bid in the Live Auction:

The auctioneer announces an item and the beginning amount.

Interested bidders raise their bid cards high in the air to be seen and acknowledged by the auctioneer as the current highest bid.

When no more bidders raise their bid cards for a bid amount, the winning bidder is the highest bid amount acknowledged.

The Auctioneer will be the final judge in determining the successful bidder for every item in the Live Auction.

An Auction Spotter will note the winning bid number and amount on a bid sheet for each item.  Winners may pay for the items at the end of the evening and pick them up in the Live Auction area from an Auction Spotter.

There are multiples of Live Auction items.  Each is considered a separate auction item.  Previous or subsequent winning bids for exact or similar items are not a factor.

Student Parking Pass Rules

Current Sophomore and Junior students are monitored for parking eligibility for the present and following year.

Students who have a combination of five or more discipline/attendance referrals or two suspensions will not be eligible for a parking permit.

The parking pass is non-transferable and may not be shared among students.  The winning bidder identifies a designated student at the time of purchase.  The designated student is awarded a parking pass for the following school year.  The designated student is then not eligible to participate in the general parking pass lottery.

Misuse will result in the loss of the student's parking privilege for the remainder of the school year, and you will not be eligible for a refund.

The parking pass auction item is available for next year's Junior or Senior.  Next year Sophomores are NOT eligible for this item.  Seniors are given first priority as to eligibility but are not necessarily guaranteed a spot.

All other rules concerning parking at Pinnacle High School apply.

Check Out Process

At the close of the live auction, many of you will need to check out.  We understand this.  It's been a long and enjoyable evening.  You want to pick up your items, pay for them, and go home.  We will work as fast a we can to help you on your way, but remember that we are volunteers - not check out professionals.

As each section closes, we need to enter the winning bidder number and amount for each item into our computer system.  We have over 300 items.  This allows us to determine the total amount of money owed as well as be able to generate a receipt for you for tax deduction purposes.  We will be happy to accommodate early checkouts if you need to leave before the end of the event, but please bear with us if we are in the middle of data entry for an auction section that has just closed.  Retracting a bid after a section has closed is really not workable, since the data has already been entered.  So please bid on each item as if you are going to win it.

We are trying to make the check out process as easy as 1-2-3.

  1. Go to one of three available computer stations and get your receipt.
  2. Take your receipt and visit one of three pay stations.  One station will accept cash, another checks, while the other will process MasterCard or VISA payments.  We will do this as quickly as possible but be aware that this venue has only one phone line for processing the credit card payments.  Your receipt will be marked PAID after step 2.
  3. Take your PAID receipt to one of our table spotters who will collect your items for you.  Please do not take the items yourselves.  We want to be sure that everyone goes home with everything they were generous enough to purchase.  This includes gift certificates tgat are not on display at the tables.

During this process, the bar will remain open, so sit back and relax.  We'll get you out of here as fast as we can.
